How the Candidates Stand on Issues Affecting Veterans Election 2018

Election 2018 Candidates StanceFor the upcoming election, the Coalition of Veterans Organizations invites all candidates to submit statements concerning their positions on veterans’ issues, and their statements will be posted on our website. The types of issues that are of particular concern to us are dental care for veterans, the privatization of the VA, means testing and copays for VA healthcare, presumptive benefits for veterans filing disability claims, and mandatory funding of the VA. This does not mean, however, that candidates should restrict their comments to these items.

Statements can be emailed to our webmaster at: webmaster@coalitionofvets.org

In addition, since VA dental care is currently a major topic of interest, due to the introduction of H. R. 4556, we are posting a link to the current list of cosponsors. The bill will die in committee if it does not get more cosponsors:

Cosponsors – H.R.4556 – 115th Congress (2017-2018): To amend title 38, United States Code, to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish dental care in the same manner as any other medical service, and for other purposes.

Our elected officials work for us, so we should educate ourselves as to the positions of the candidates on issues pertaining to veterans. We urge all veterans, as those who have sacrificed to make voting for our officials possible, to cast their ballots.

CVO is 501(c)(3) organization, so we do not endorse candidates. Our request for candidate inputs will be put on our website, so that veterans can educate themselves on the candidates.
