Memorial Day Parade 2013

We hope to see everyone at the Memorial Day Parade
on Saturday, May 25th. We are Number 91.

If you prefer, you can meet at Montford Point Marine Association (7011 S Vincennes in Chicago) at 7:30 AM and ride a school bus to and in the Parade. They are asking a $3 donation to defray costs. You can also board the bus on Wacker after it arrives. CVO will pay the $3 for any CVO member who needs it.
Meet up at 11 AM on Wacker Drive between Clark and LaSalle. Again, we are No. 91. Look for us, our signs and our vehicles there. View Map

Everyone is invited! Bring family and friends. You can walk or ride. The Parade is lots of fun and should be over by 2:30 PM or so.

CVO Meeting Saturday March 16th

The next meeting of the Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will be on Saturday, March 16th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Montford Point Marine Association, 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago.

A key point on the agenda will be the April fundraiser.

CVO Meeting Saturday February 16th

We’ll be celebrating African American History Month by hearing from two Original Montford Pointers—Mr. James Reynolds and Mr. Stanley Porter—speaking on their history as original African American Marines when the services were still segregated. Be sure to come and hear their impressive stories. Both are recipients of the Congressional Gold Medal for their contributions to the Marine Corps and desegregation.

We will also discuss the upcoming fundraiser in April.

CVO Meeting Saturday January 19th

The next meeting of the Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will be this Saturday, January 19th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Montford Point Marine Association at 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago.

The elections to the Executive Committee (the CVO Board of Directors) is the key agenda point. All members should attend. Bruce Parry, David Rogers, Brian Stella and Sel Dunlap are up for election.

Coffee and Donuts will be served!

After the meeting, join us for a walkthrough of House 348, the CVO-supported rehabilitated house that will be going to a veteran. The United Relief Foundation (URF), a CVO member rehabbed this house with CVO and other volunteers. It is now ready for occupation. Come see the results of our volunteer work from 1 to 3 PM after the meeting. The address is 348 E 77th Street in Chicago.

July 2012 MeetingThe Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will hold its next meeting this Saturday, July 21st, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the  Montford Point Marine Association at 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago.

We’ll be meeting in the Board Room this time.

 

On the agenda will be our new headgear, meetings with Congressional Representatives, the upcoming Warrior Summit and more!!

Coffee and Donuts will be served!

Come early so we can get started on time!

We hope to see everyone at the Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 26th. We are Number 90 and there are two ways to connect with us for the Parade.

 

1) At 7:45 AM we are meeting at the General Jones Armory at 52nd and Cottage Grove.

There is free parking. You will ride to the Parade with us in Humvees that will be representing us in the Parade. We will return you to the Armory and your vehicle after the Parade.

2) At 11 AM we are gathering on Wacker Drive between Clark and LaSalle. Again, we are No. 90. Look for us, our signs and the Humvees there.
