In Memory of John Monaghan – 1946 – 2018

john_m_remember_2018It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of John Monaghan, Vice President of Veterans for Unification. John was an Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam and a veteran activist. John orchestrated a one of a kind veterans march event in downtown Chicago about a decade ago with his daughter Jessica and Alderman Dick Mell. Funeral arrangements for John: Thursday May 24 and Friday May 25, at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 Roosevelt, Hillside Il.

Chicago Memorial Day Parade 2012

We hope to see everyone at the Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 26th. We are Number 90 and there are two ways to connect with us for the Parade.

 

1) At 7:45 AM we are meeting at the General Jones Armory at 52nd and Cottage Grove.

There is free parking. You will ride to the Parade with us in Humvees that will be representing us in the Parade. We will return you to the Armory and your vehicle after the Parade.

2) At 11 AM we are gathering on Wacker Drive between Clark and LaSalle. Again, we are No. 90. Look for us, our signs and the Humvees there.

Everyone is invited! Bring family and friends. You can walk with us or ride. The Parade is lots of fun and should be over by 2:00 PM or so.

The Muslim American Veterans Association (MAVA) will have a Jobs Fair & Awards Luncheon Ceremony at General Jones Armory, 52d and Cottage Grove,on
Saturday, May 26th from 2PM to 6 PM.
