Cook County Military & Veteran Discount Nights @ Chicago Wolves Games

The Chicago Wolves remain committed to honoring those who have served or are currently serving in the military. As a thank you for your service, the Wolves and the Cook County Office of Veteran Affairs are offering veterans, active-duty personnel and other members of the military a special ticket offer to attend a Chicago Wolves game during the 2025-26 season.

Any qualified veteran who has registered with The Cook County Clerk’s Office and the County’s Department of Veterans Affairs for a free discount card is eligible to participate. Each eligible veteran will receive one (1x) free ticket to the game and the ability to purchase additional tickets at a discount. To apply and get more details on other offers, visit cookcountyclerkil.gov/veterans.

This is an online only offer and not redeemable at the Allstate Arena Box office.

Military and Veterans Discount Card Program

The Military and Veterans Discount Program is jointly administered by the Cook County Clerk’s Office and the Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs. Hundreds of businesses in Cook County participate in the program to offer active-duty members of the military and veterans discounts for purchases and retail services. A County-issued identification card is issued to those who sign up for the program.

Joe Cook honored at Chicago Wolves Hometown Hero

Maj. Joseph Cook was honored as a “Hometown Hero” at the Chicago Wolves game on Jan. 5, 2024. He has served in the Air Force JAG Corps as a statewide Area Defense Counsel in the Wisconsin ANG for the past four years after having served in the Illinois ANG for eight years.

Since joining CVO, he has been very active in contacting congressional staffers to advocate for the interests of veterans.

The person being honored is introduced as he goes onto the ice (on a red carpet) with Wayne Mesmer for the singing of the National Anthem. CVO members interested in becoming a Hometown Hero should let us know since good work for veterans should be recognized. It is not necessary to appear in uniform.

Commenting on the event, Joe said, “It was an amazing experience, and very special to share it with my family and friends who came out to the game.”

Cook County Clerk Teams Up with Chicago Wolves Hockey to Offer Game Ticket for Veterans and Military Members

Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough and the Cook County Clerk’s Office are teaming up with the Chicago Wolves to offer Cook County veterans and active-duty military members a free ticket to a regular-season Wolves game for the 2023-24 season.

Veterans who sign up for the Clerk’s Veterans Discount Card program, or those who are already enrolled in the program, are being offered one free ticket for a Wolves home game and the ability to purchase additional tickets at a discount.  

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Chicago Wolves to bring this wonderful offer to our well-deserving veterans and dedicated military members,” said Yarbrough.  “Many thanks to the Wolves organization for their steadfast commitment to our Veterans.”  

All Cook County Veterans, active-duty personnel, National Guard, reservists, and other members of the military can apply for the free Military and Veterans Discount Program, a public-private partnership that offers reduced costs and benefits to veterans. 

The offer is applicable for regular season home games through Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Veterans and active-duty military members can purchase their tickets at bit.ly/WolvesCookCoVeterans.

Instructions when purchasing tickets: 

  • When purchasing multiple tickets, please be sure to check your seats/section prior to checkout. 
  • All tickets will be delivered to the email address you provide. No paper tickets will be printed
  • Participants need a mobile device and must present the tickets on their phone for entry to Allstate Arena
  • Customers will receive two emails:
  1. A purchase confirmation
  2. Instructions to access the tickets. 

Applications for the Clerk’s Veteran Discount Card Program can be completed online at cookcountyclerk.com/veterans, by mail, or at the Clerk’s Veterans Affairs Office, located at 118 N. Clark in Chicago. The office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

When applying, Veterans should bring their DD-214, Retired Military Card, or Illinois Driver’s License or State ID – with Veterans Designation.

The Clerk’s Discount Card, which is offered in partnership with the Cook County Office of Veteran’s Affairs, provides veterans with discounts on a wide range of services including food, auto repair, legal services, as well as health and fitness memberships.

The Wolves are proud to show their support for those protecting our country in the armed forces during the Military Appreciation Game on Nov. 12, 2023.

The Wolves are earnest in their support of those who are committed to the safety and security of our country.

“Typically, members of our military let their shared dedication to America’s well-being speak for itself,” Wolves President of Business Operations Jon Sata said. “We’re eager to offer some recognition while allowing our military the opportunity to enjoy some time with their friends and families.”

The Military Appreciation Game is supported by our partners at Mid-West Moving and Storage, Chicagoland Hooters and Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Kia Dealers. These partners have purchased tickets and will be donating them to veterans and their families to enjoy the evening out.

A Wolves representative will confirm your request prior to the game.

These special ticket packages include a ticket to the game and one Military Bucket Hat.

Hats will be available to pick up at the Customer Service Booth by Section 113 the day of the game.

MILITARY APPRECIATION – CHICAGO WOLVES CHARITIES

During the Military Appreciation Game on November 12, the Wolves will be hosting a collection drive to benefit Operation Support Our Troops and Packages4Patriots. Fans are encouraged to bring collection items to the Chicago Wolves Charities Table behind Section 105.

In honor of the Military Appreciation Game, pick up a special edition Military Mystery Puck signed by a Wolves player. You won’t know which player signed your puck until you unwrap it! Stop by the charity table to grab yours while supplies last.

The Chicago Wolves are proud to host the eighth annual Salute to Military Families Night, presented by your Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Kia Dealers, on Saturday, April 8, when the team hosts the Iowa Wild at Allstate Arena.  The Wolves will honor current and former servicemen and women along with their families throughout the night in appreciation of their dedication to our country.



In addition to the game, the Wolves host two other veteran events before the game.

Wolves Warrior Classic

  • The Inaugural Wolves Warrior Classic drops the puck at 2:30PM and will feature two veteran hockey groups – Level Zero Heroes and the Carolina Hurricanes Warriors in a pregame showcase and fundraiser for VSO’s in Chicago.

Military Resource Fair

  • Following the game, the Military Resource Fair returns to the Skyline Room from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.! The event showcases organizations and companies that provide support to the veteran community.
  •  Veterans have the opportunity to receive information and ask direct questions about services and programs designed for them and their families — whether they’re getting ready to deploy or transitioning back to civilian life.

The Chicago Wolves are proud to host the fifth Salute to Military Families Night on Saturday, April 14, when the team hosts the Rockford IceHogs at Allstate Arena. The Wolves will honor current and former servicemen, servicewomen and their families throughout the night in appreciation of their dedication to our country.

The Wolves have added a new aspect to the proceedings this year. The Wolves are hosting a pregame resource event to showcase organizations and companies that provide support to veterans and their families. Veterans have the opportunity to receive information and ask direct questions about services and programs designed for them and their families — whether they are getting ready to be deployed or transitioning back to civilian life for the first time.

“Members of our military do their jobs with little or no fanfare and they perform tasks many of us can only imagine,” said Chicago Wolves president Mike Gordon. “We are thankful for the chance to offer them a way to connect with resources they may need and to share it with their families.”

Partners such as Compass Heating & Air, Sport Clips and Circle K have purchased tickets and will donate them to military and governmental organizations to ensure veterans and their families can enjoy an evening out while receiving relevant information and support they might need.
