The Cook County Clerk’s Office has renewed its partnership with the Chicago White Sox to provide complimentary game tickets to veterans and active-duty military personnel for the 2026 season. Announced by Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon, this initiative aims to honor the service and sacrifice of local heroes by offering them a free day at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Eligibility and Program Details
The program is open to all Cook County veterans, active-duty military members, National Guard personnel, and reservists. To claim a ticket, eligible participants must be enrolled in the Cook County Clerk’s Veterans Discount Card program, which also provides savings at various businesses across the county.
How to Claim Your Ticket
Redeeming the offer involves three simple steps:
- Sign Up: Obtain a free Military and Veterans Discount Card. You can apply online, by mail, or in person at the Clerk’s Veterans Affairs Office at 118 N. Clark St..
- Present Your Card: Bring your valid discount card to the Gate 4 Box Office at Guaranteed Rate Field on a designated game day.
- Pick Up: Tickets are available for pickup starting two hours before game time.
2026 Qualifying Game Dates
The offer is valid for select weekday home games throughout the 2026 season, including:
- April: 6–8, 14–16, 27–29
- May: 12–14, 25–28
- June: 9–11, 22–24
- July: 7–9, 30
- August: 11–13, 24–26
- September: 8–10, 17
Veterans who are not yet enrolled in the program can apply online at cookcountyclerk.com/veterans, by mail, or in person at the Clerk’s Veterans Affairs Office, located at 118 N. Clark Street in Chicago. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Applicants should bring a DD-214, Retired Military ID, or an Illinois Driver’s License or State ID with a Veterans designation.
