Those interested in attending the service academies submit their applications to their congressmen with the hope of being nominated. Those nominated are then evaluated and the service academies decide which ones they will select.

I served on a committee that evaluated the applicants. The process involved reviewing resumes and statements, and conducting interviews.

A ceremony was held on Dec. 4, 2025, at the Elmwood Park Library, where those selected were announced. The committee members were also recognized by Cong. Ramirez (and CVO was mentioned when I was recognized).

Of those who applied, 4 were nominated for the Air Force Academy, 2 for the Naval Academy, and 1 for the U. S. Military Academy.
