Commissioner Jeffrey Tobolski in partnership with the Cook County Department of Veteran Affairs and the Cook County Assessor’s Office will be hosting a seminar to assist veterans with the Disabled Veterans Exemption application process. Veterans MUST bring a copy of their letter from the VA (Veterans Administration) that shows the veterans disability rating to qualify for their exemption.

The Veterans Saturday Vet Chats present two months of The African American Veteran: Bridging the Past, Present, and Future, in Fellowship Hall.

Saturday, 20 February, 9:30 a.m. until noon will feature historian of African American military history, Claude J. Hilliard, Chaplain at Pullman Christian Reformed Church and Chaplain of the Montford Point Marine Association, Inc.Chicago.

Saturday, 19 March, 9:30 a.m. until noon will feature Dr. Byron T. Brazier, pastor of the Apostolic Church of God, who will speak on the viability of today’s veteran and how he or she can be a major force in forging the future of the community.

All are welcome! No reservation required! Sessions are free of charge!
