
Major Joseph D. Cook currently works as a principal attorney at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) of Greater Chicago. Joe previously served as a Prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO). Joe proudly serves in the United States Air Force JAG Corps, where he is assigned as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate at the 115th Fighter Wing National Guard Base in Madison, Wisconsin. Joe grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago. He attended high school at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, then went on to Columbia University in New York City, where he earned a degree in history and played football. Joe completed his studies at The John Marshall Law School (now UIC Law School) in Chicago. Joe has been a volunteer coach at numerous schools, including Gordon Tech High School (now DePaul Academy) and St. Mary of the Wood’s grade school. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Tripp Healy Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on providing scholarship opportunities for underserved students. Joe is a member of American Legion Post 541 in Edison Park. Joe and his wife Jenny have five daughters and live in Chicago’s Wildwood neighborhood.
