This Friday—June 21st— there is a rally against Urban Violence and for Peace in the Streets at 7 PM at 78th Place and Throop. CVO firmly supports the movement for peace and has long been a member of Veterans for Peace. Veterans have a unique role to play in this movement. We have seen violence; we have been violent. We recognize that building a secure, safe environment for our children and families means ending urban violence. As veterans, we can bring experience and a respected position in society to the streets. We need you to show up and show the way!

MPMA, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit veteran service organization established in June 1966 to perpetuate the legacy of the first African Americans who entered the Marine Corps. Our membership is open to veterans of all of the Armed Forces. Our purpose is to support education, advocate veteran programs, and promote community service. Now in existence for close to fifty years, MPMA, Inc. continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community.

In order to meet our mission and provide services within our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses. Combined Veterans Luncheon & Expo, will be in its FOURTH year. This year we have a potential list of 100 exhibitors, all organizations and companies that help veterans and the community. We are also adding a job fair to assist employment-seeking veterans. To receive a FREE meal, served by Mission BBQ, veterans must present proof of Service such as a VA ID card, current VSO Membership card, a DD 214 with appropriate State ID, or any identification that proves he or she is a veteran.

Non-veterans pay $15 for their meal. Every meal bought pays for a veteran’s meal as well.

If you can assist us with a financial donation we can feed more veterans. A donation of $50.00 will help us feed 8-10 veterans. A donation of $100.00 will help feed 16-20 veterans, etc.

As a way to thank our sponsors, a large sponsor banner will be displayed at the event. You can display your or your company’s information for all the attendees to see those who helped make the event successful.
