The next meeting of the Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will be from 10 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 19th at the Manual Perez Post 1017 American Legion, 2658 S Hamlin Ave, Chicago, IL 60623 (773-522-9315). We’ll discuss the carrying our message to the Legislators, what’s going on in the VA, the VA Crisis Hot Line, and more.
As usual, donuts and coffee will be served!

The Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will hold it’s next meeting on Saturday, August 16th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Montford Point Marine Association, 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago.

We’ll be having a presentation on the Crisis Hot Line from the Jesse Brown Suicide Prevention staff. We’ve received another response from the VA in Washington, DC in response to our letter about the Crisis Hot Line! Come to the meeting and hear the latest! Plus, much more!

The Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will sponsor a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, September 20th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Montford Point Marine Association, 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago. We have invited several elected representatives to attend, including Senators Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin, Rep. Bobby Rush, Rep. Danny Davis, Rep. Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Rep. Robin Kelly, Rep. Mike Quigley and Alderman Roderick Sawyer. We will be discussing the current crisis at the VA, the investigation of the Crisis Hot Line instigated by CVO and the need for these representatives to carry out the CVO Veterans Program in order to solve the problems of the VA.
Be sure to come out! As always, Coffee and Donuts will be served.

We will have a presentation on Discharge Upgrades by Ray Parrish. Ray is a long-term member of CVO, a trained Veteran Service Officer (VSO) and an expert on Discharge Upgrades. Don’t miss his presentation!
We’ll also have updates on all the CVO activities.

The agenda will include what is going on in Chicago, Communities we can work in, Sending representatives to actions and meetings to End Violence, and Strategic decisions on how to proceed.

The next meeting of CVO will be from 10 AM to 12:30 PM on this Saturday, January 17th, at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. We meet in the 2nd floor Prescription Room next to the Director’s Office. Parking in the garage will be validated.
The agenda will include a presentation on the Milwaukee-based Veterans Employment Alliance, an in-depth discussion of the direction of CVO in the coming year, reports from all our committees, plans for the 2015 CVO fundraiser, and more. Be prepared to step up and be counted as a member of CVO. Renew your 2015 membership online or at this meeting. Members will receive our new Brochure and our new pamphlet on the CVO Veterans Program hot off the press!

The Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will meet on this Saturday, February 21st, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM in the Prescription Conference Room of Jesse Brown VA (820 S Damen) on the second floor. Parking in the garage will be validated.
It’s Black History Month, so we’ll have a presentation by the 555th Parachute Infantry Association. They represent the first African American Paratroopers. We’ll have displays and a presentation. Be sure to be there!
We’ll also hear from the City Treasurer, Kurt Summers. We’ll discuss the upcoming CVO Fundraiser on May 2nd, The NWVU Gala and the VACCC Corned Beef Dinner, both on March 21st and CVO nominations at the March meeting. We’ll collect dues, and hear from our committees.
