CVO will be holding its regular March meeting on Saturday, March 15th at the Austin Community Resource Center (the Old Austin YMCA) at 501 N. Central Avenue in Chicago. You asked that we move the meetings around, so we’re holding this one on the West side. Future meetings will be in other areas. The meeting will be from 10 AM to 12:15 PM. Please be on time since we only have the venue for the designated times!

Save the Date! We’re having our Annual CVO Fundraiser on Saturday, May 17th from Noon to 4 PM at the Japan Hibachi Grill at 76th and Cicero. It’s Armed Forces Day! We’ll have live entertainment, an awards ceremony, door prizes and raffles all afternoon! The food there is great! Don’t miss it! Put it in your calendars now and come out and support CVO and veterans. We only have one fundraiser a year and this is it! Tickets are only $25 per person.

The Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will meet on Saturday, June 21, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, on the North side of Chicago at the National Veterans Art Museum (NVAM) at 4041 N Milwaukee Ave in Chicago. We are very excited to be meeting there and to find such a fine venue as we move our meeting around to meet the needs of different veterans.
There is plenty of paid parking on the street and in the parking lot west off of Milwaukee Ave on Cuyler. There is free parking in the Sears lot across Cicero.
The agenda will start with a Power Point presentation on the CVO Veterans Program by the Chair, Dr. Bruce Parry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what CVO does and to discuss our next steps.
We’ll be discussing the current crisis in the VA, the Crisis Hot Line campaign, the success of the recent Fundraiser and the success at the Memorial Day Parade.
There will be a tour of the museum at the end of the meeting.
As usual, coffee and donuts will be served! See you there!

The Coalition of Veterans Organizations (CVO) will sponsor a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, September 20th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Montford Point Marine Association, 7011 S Vincennes in Chicago. We have invited several elected representatives to attend, including Senators Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin, Rep. Bobby Rush, Rep. Danny Davis, Rep. Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Rep. Robin Kelly, Rep. Mike Quigley and Alderman Roderick Sawyer. We will be discussing the current crisis at the VA, the investigation of the Crisis Hot Line instigated by CVO and the need for these representatives to carry out the CVO Veterans Program in order to solve the problems of the VA.
Be sure to come out! As always, Coffee and Donuts will be served.
