The Montford Point Marine Association, Inc. (MPMA, Inc.) invites you to join us as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, June 18, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois.
MPMA, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit veteran service organization established in June 1966 to perpetuate the legacy of the first African Americans who entered the Marine Corps. Our membership is open to veterans of all of the Armed Forces. Our purpose is to support education, advocate veteran programs, and promote community service. Now in existence for close to fifty years, MPMA, Inc. continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community.
In order to meet our mission and provide services within our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses. So we’re asking for your support by placing an ad in our 50th Anniversary Journal. For individuals that are U.S. Military Veterans. This event is one of three dance competitions for military couples to participate in to be invited to a grand finale. This event is in partnership with Veterans Upward Bound. One participant per couple must have a DD214 or other military verification to be eligible. PLAINFIELD— State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) is hosting a Veterans’ Breakfast this month.
The Veterans’ Breakfast will take place from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, at the Plainfield American Legion (24741 W. Renwick Road, Plainfield, IL).
Representatives from the Attorney General’s Military and Veteran Bureau, Homes for Heroes, Kendall County Veterans Assistance Commission, Military Mama Network and Will County Veterans Assistance Commission will be on hand to discuss services and programs they offer.
Veterans will have the opportunity to hear from special guest speaker Dr. Steven E. Braverman. Dr. Braverman has been the Hospital Director for the Edward Hines J. Hospital since the fall of 2016. An Iraq War Veteran, he has put a priority on making Hines the Flagship of the Veteran’s Health Administration.
The breakfast is free to area veterans and open to the press.
