CVO has a new meeting day and time: We’re meeting on Wednesday, August 17th from 7 to 9 PM at the Jesse Brown VA in the 2nd floor Conference Room. As usual, parking will be validated.

The agenda will include a CVO history by Bruce Parry, former CVO Chair and a thorough discussion of the future of CVO: New People, New Energy, A New Way Forward!

As always, coffee and donuts will be served, even though it’s at night.

Make sure you attend this important, CVO-changing meeting!

Salute to the Armed Forces 2016 @ Double Tree Hotel

We want YOU!!! Calling all Cook County Veterans, Reservists and Military Personnel to attend this free patriot celebration. Proudly sponsored by 6th District Cook County Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy, VITAS Healthcare, Dignity Memorial and the Alsip Double Tree Hotel by Hilton, all branches of serviceman and women will be honored at the ceremony and celebration, Thursday October 13, 2016.

The 6th Annual “Salute to the Armed Forces” will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Alsip located at 5000 W. 127th Street. All branches of serviceman and women will be honored for serving their Country with pride and dedication at a ceremony, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 1 p.m. Doors open at 12:00p.m. All Honorees must pre-register to attend.

A Free Patriotic celebration to salute our Armed Forces Service Men and Women. Share in an afternoon of fellowship and appreciation for your courage and dedication. Those that have served in the United States Armed Forces in war time and peace time will be honored for their contribution and sacrifice to our great Nation. This celebration is proudly presented by Cook County Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy, Vitas Healthcare, Dignity Memorial, and Double Tree Hotel by Hilton.

All branches of military service men and women will receive an Honorary “Salute Certificate” and custom designed Brass Commemorative Pin. The Ceremony of Appreciation will also include a Patriot program, POW-MIA Remembrance Service, noted guest speakers, patriot entertainment and Color Guard presentation. Refreshments will be served to all honorees and guests.

Registration is required, If you wish to be honored at this Patriot ceremony. You must register for the event. Please list your name, branch of serve, phone number, email address and number of guests attending. Fax information to 708.389.2240 OR Call Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy’s Office at 312.603.3789. RSVP by October 11th.

Please Veterans Strike Force as they remember and give thanks to those who served. Family and friends are invited to spend time commemorating and celebrating our veterans.

The commemoration will close with a light lunch and music provided by In Full Swing, a 15 piece swing band.
