As we know, COVID has caused many disruptions in our lives and the way many things are handled. One of them is our co-payments for using the VA hospitals or clinics.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has reopened the registration period for claiming an Economic Impact Payment. Individuals who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Railroad Retirement, or certain Veterans benefits – but didn’t receive the $500 payment per child earlier this year – can still file for the $500 payment.
H.R. 4554 would require the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to establish and implement a comprehensive anti-harassment and anti-sexual assault policy for the Department. Please do your part to support ending harassment at VA facilities and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all veterans to obtain the care they need and have earned. Use the prepared letter (or your own) to ask your Representative to cosponsor H.R. 4554 and support its final passage.
CVO member Taalibdin Shabazz has passed away. Taalibdin was a past member of the CVO Executive Committee. He was a founder of the Muslim American Veterans Association, Chapter 2 and was its long time representative to CVO. Taalibdin served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.
It is with deep regret and sympathy that I report that I have just learned of the the passing of CVO member Charles ‘Smudge” Coleman on April 8th of this year. Smudge was an original member of the CVO Executive Committee.

CVO member, original Montford Pointer and World War II Marine veteran Stanley Porter passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. At 98 years of age, Stanley was still active as the Montford Point Marine Association representative to CVO.
