The Montford Point Marine Association, Inc., Chicago Chapter 2 (MPMA, Inc.) invites you to join and celebrate its 53rd Anniversary Black Tie Awards Luncheon, October 26, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois.
MPMA, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit veteran service organization established in 1966 to perpetuate the legacy of the Montford Point Marines, the first African Americans who entered the Marine Corps and trained at a segregated boot camp located in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina from 1942-1949.
We hope that you will be able to take part in one or more of the many exciting events we have planned during our 53rd Anniversary Weekend (October 25-27, 2019) in Chicago, Illinois. We need your help to restore and repair the Montford Point Marine Association (MPMA) Veteran Center located at 7011 S. Vincennes, Chicago, Illinois 60621.
We are asking for at least 50 volunteers to help work in our veteran center on November 11, 2019. We have a partnership with Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit with a Heroes at Home Program and Sears, our benevolent donor who will supply funding for some of the internal repairs, if MPMA finds the volunteers.

The Student Veterans Center at Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting a Veterans Resources Fair from 10a.m. to 2 p.m., March 4, in the Prairie Center gym of the college’s main campus, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
This event features free health screenings community as well as housing, legal, employment and educational information, and much more. All veterans, current service members and their families are welcome to attend.

This Saturday, April 15th from 10 – 2 pm, the Office of Military Student Affairs will be having its 8th Veterans job/Resources Fair, this year in the Atrium. Please feel free to share this with others. Or stop by to get information for a family member or friend.
So far over 35 vendors are currently signed up to share information about job opportunities and resources. Workshops will be provided by Cook County Veterans Affairs and the local VA Hospitals, sharing information about the PACT Act as well.
